Making the Handbag Switch How often do you change your handbag?

With my ever growing handbag collection the most common question is, “How often do you switch out your handbags?” Now I don’t have direct answer to this question but I can go through my thought process when I’m making the switch.
I remember my first big handbag purchase when I was about 18. I walked into Louis Vuitton and knew exactly what I wanted. I saved up and had my eye on the speedy 25 for a while. I wore this bag everywhere and with everything. From stuffing my bagged lunch to carrying around an overnight outfit when staying over at my boyfriends house at the time. I loved this bag and it still holds a lot of memories to this day. I’m definitely not that person that worries about reselling I love to buy, wear and enjoy. Now that I am a bit older I can invest and collect a few more than one changing out my bag happens more often. Instead of buying bags that are very practical, like multiple black bags, I recently started stepping out of my comfort zone and going for bags that make more of a statement. Like my off white Balenciaga, or this cute little pink top handle Furla bag and chain. With all the fun colors and styles choices that are available it’s easier to pick and chose different bags on a daily basis to go with your mood. Here my thoughts on when switching out your bag:
- When investing or buying a new handbag choose the one that your eyes go to first. If you’re like me you’ll try and talk yourself out of that velvet blue Gucci bag (i want this one next) and go with black because it matches more. Be adventurous, you’ll be surprised to see how much more fun it can play up your wardrobe.
- Now that you have an array of handbags in your collection display them where you can easily see them. When getting dressed this will be an easy place to pick the perfect bag to go with your look.
- Don’t be afraid to switch handbags to match your outfits.
