Fashion Week is definitely one of my favorite times of the year. I absolutely love all the street style looks everyone has pulled together even in the freezing cold. I got lucky because it seemed to be a bit warmer considering we had a snow storm two days before. This New York Fashion Week I was invited to the Yuna Yang show on Saturday. I didn’t know much about the designer which made me more interested in attending. At first glance it was feminine, colorful and right on trend, meaning everything I thought to fill my closet for fall/winter.
Now, a little more about the designer Yuna Yang and her inspiration behind her collection that made it all come together. It was lovely to read more about her culture. Coming from South Korea where there have been scandals and situations that haven’t been the favorable for the country. Seeing the social and political movement here in the United States, especially the Women’s March, gave her inspiration to create a collection based around “people who hold onto hope and belief in shadowed times.” You can check some of my favorite pieces from the collection featuring lace, velvet and light fabrics that brought depth and light throughout her collection.
