I’ve always loved the look of updos, whether flowy and romantic or in a tight structured bun. When I want something different than my usual loose waves, or even tighter curls, I opt for a simple updo that I’ve been doing for years. Since it’s the best excuse this time of year to wear fancy dresses and sequin necklines, its also a fun excuse to go with something special for your hair.
This twisted updo is as simple as it sounds and it’s basically a large twist around your head. So easy, right? I do this style on straight or curly hair and it holds better on day or two old hair so it doesn’t just slip right out. 1. Start with a deep side part and begin tightly twisting your hair down to the ear. Place bobby pins around it to secure it in place.
2. Grab the next section and twist your hair around the nape of the neck.
3. Continue this step until all your hair is up.
4. Pull some hair down around your face and gently curl
