When I have the opportunity to bake I usually try to perfect the basics and in this case it included finding the perfect recipe for the perfect soft chocolate chip cookie. I’ve tried a few recipes and although we ate every single one in just 2 days I never truly got the perfect texture down pat. They would start off soft and as they would cool they would turn into these hard edible objects that weren’t very appealing. I tried a new recipe this weekend that added maple syrup and knew I needed to test out this simple trick. I’m not going to try to oversell these, but you just simply need to make them for yourselves. With just a simple concept of taking two fresh soft baked cookies and placing a scoop of ice cream in between created an enjoyable summer afternoon for a soft chocolate chip ice cream sandwich.
