Inside Hart: Brooklyn fleaJessica Hart
What do I do on my Saturdays you ask? Well, here’s one thing I love to do…visit flea markets!
Vintage clothing, handmade items, furniture, art and lots more make up what’s know as the “Brooklyn Flea.” My husband and I spent this lazy Saturday roaming around Fort Greene’s beautiful neighborhood
I have this weird obsession of finding and buying mugs, tea cups and vintage glasses. So, I entered in with a mission. I found a set of 1960’s gold plated glasses ( a piece of art!) but, I figured I probably wouldn’t let anyone drink out of them so….why bother?! So, I just said “hi beautiful glasses” and waved. Since I love my morning cup of joe I’m always on the hunt for cute mugs. You’d know how much I love coffee if you’ve read my last post, “Day in the Life: Coffee House.” I did find this amazing vendor who sells/makes unique wall mirrors. Too bad I don’t have a place to put it at this time but, if I did…it would be amaaazzing! I love that most of the vendors, if not all, are local Brooklyn based companies.
After browsing through all the vendors for a while we decided to get a bite to eat. There were so many choices but, we made a good decision by going with Mexican.
4 Ways To Be Flea Market Ready!
1. Make sure to wear comfy shoes… there will be lots of walking and you don’t want to leave just because your feet hurt.
2. Dress in lightweight clothes for walking around in the hot weather.
3. Cross body bags are easy to carry and they keep your hands free. You might leave there with both hands full!
4. Bring a camera. You never know what you’ll find/see!
